MY STORY ON ANIMATION COMPOSER SAMMY TIMBERG
I wrote an appreciation of the life and work of cartoon composer Sammy Timberg for this week's edition of Chelsea Now. The story will also appear in The Villager and Downtown Express this coming week.
If you've ever watched the classic Betty Boop, Popeye or Superman cartoons, you've enjoyed the music of this under-appreciated genius. I interviewed multiple members of the Timberg family for the story, as well as movie critic Leonard Maltin and a number of film and music historians.

MY ESSAY ABOUT DRACULA
Actually it's about a stage adaptation of Dracula here in New York. But it was an opportunity to write extensively about the Hammer series of Dracula movies starring Christopher Lee.
I grew up on those movies and still love them today. And now I got to write about them. Yay me.
You can read my essay in this week's editions of The Villager and Downtown Express. Or you can click here.
p.s. The chapters will return soon, once I finish the particularly time-consuming project I'm on right now.
